Georgia, Türkiye discuss deeper cooperation against organized crime

Georgian Interior Minister Sulkhan Tamazashvili and Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi discussed further deepening cooperation between the two countries' interior ministries and strengthening the joint fight against organized crime in Tbilisi, Report's Georgian bureau informs.

Çiftçi is on an official visit to Georgia at the invitation of his Georgian counterpart.

The sides stressed the importance of strengthening existing cooperation and expressed readiness to expand joint activities in this area.

The talks were attended by Georgian First Deputy Interior Minister Roni Meskhi, Deputy Interior Minister Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and heads of various departments of the ministry.

As part of the visit, the sides also planned to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the police academies of the Georgian and Turkish interior ministries.
