"After the restoration of independence, all Georgian authorities tried to assume the role of peacekeepers in the region," said Georgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani at a briefing.
Report informs that, according to him, the humanitarian agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia on June 12 was the first concrete result of these efforts: "Tbilisi's mediation in the South Caucasus aims to make Georgia's role and function a priority in the context of global security and the new geopolitical environment."
