FM: Control over checkpoint with Iran to pass to Armenia from 2025

From January 1, 2025, Armenian border guards will fully take over the service at checkpoints on the border with Iran, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in Istanbul, where a meeting of the "3+3" regional platform is taking place, Report informs via Armenian media.
Mirzoyan thanked the Russian side for "many years of assistance in ensuring border security and service at checkpoints on the Armenian-Iranian border."
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had previously agreed that from January 1, 2025, the protection of checkpoints on the Iranian-Armenian border, where Russian FSB border guards had been serving, will be carried out only by Armenian military personnel.
