Fidan: Russia's position in Caucasus peace process is important for Türkiye

Türkiye considers Russia's stance on the ongoing peace process in the Caucasus, as well as on several global issues, to be of significant importance, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated during a live broadcast on CNN Türk while speaking about his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Report informs.

Fidan emphasized that the Black Sea, South Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Africa are crucial regions for Türkiye, where the country pursues effective foreign, economic, and security policies.

He explained: "The issues I raised with President Putin were as follows: first, Russia's current position in the war in Ukraine; second, the peace process in the Caucasus and Russia's role there, which is important for us; and third, their stance and views on the Palestine and Gaza issue."

Meanwhile, Fidan met with Putin on June 17 during the Russia–ASEAN summit.
