Farid Shafiyev: Election results show Armenia wants to continue peace

On one hand, the election results indicate that Armenia wants to continue the peace and normalization process; on the other hand, the important point is that Azerbaijan's rightful demands and expectations have not changed, Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), said at the event under the theme New Geopolitical Realities in the South Caucasus: Azerbaijan and the Peace Agenda, Report informs.

"What interests us now is the recent elections held in Armenia," he said.

Shafiyev noted that after the parliamentary elections in Armenia, certain trends have been observed in Western media: "It is being suggested that Azerbaijan should abandon its demand regarding Armenia's constitution. At least over the past five to six years, none of the advice given to Azerbaijan from the West has been useful. This point shows the correctness of the policy Azerbaijan is pursuing."
