European Commissioner Marta Kos to travel to Armenia after Azerbaijan

European Commissioner for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood Marta Kos will visit Armenia on September 19-20 as part of her visit to the South Caucasus, following her visit to Azerbaijan, Report informs referring to the EU press service.

A number of meetings are planned during the visit, including with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, and Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan.

The EU expects that with the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, there is now an opportunity to reinforce EU cooperation in the region and advance the EU's strategy for a more stable and secure Black Sea region, the statement reads.

In Armenia, Commissioner Kos will meet President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, as well as Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan. Kos will take part in the signing of two projects with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), visit the EU4Sevan biodiversity project site, and tour the TUMO Centre of Creative Technologies.

In Yerevan, the Commissioner will also meet with civil society organisations, women leaders and Young European Ambassadors.
