Türkiye is one of NATO's leading countries in the defense industry, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at a press conference following the NATO summit in Ankara, Report's Türkiye bureau informs.
He said the NATO summit, hosted by Türkiye for the second time in 22 years, ended successfully.
"This historic summit, which we hosted at a time when Euro-Atlantic security is facing serious tests, will play an important role in shaping our common future," Erdoğan said.
The Turkish president said clear and urgent messages were delivered during the summit on the need for European countries among NATO allies to assume greater responsibility for the alliance's security and defense.
