Erdogan says ready to cooperate with Taliban

Turkey is open for cooperation with representatives of the Taliban movement who have seized power in Afghanistan, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, Report informs.
“We are ready for all kinds of cooperation to preserve peace for the Afghan people, to ensure the well-being of Turkish citizens living in this country, as well as to protect the interests of our state,” he said.
Erdogan noted that Turkey welcomes the ‘moderate’ statements of the Taliban.
He also said that he expects to hold talks on the situation in Afghanistan with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin at the end of the week.
