Emergency Ministry: More than 760 homes remain flooded in Dagestan

More than 760 homes remain flooded in nine settlements in Dagestan (Russia).

According to Report, citing Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations, flooding persists in nine settlements across five municipal districts of the region: a total of 762 residential houses, 812 household plots, and 76 sections of roads remain affected.

Currently, 524 people, including 175 children, are staying in 16 temporary accommodation centers.

The ministry also noted that more than 3,800 personnel and over 1,000 units of equipment have been deployed to deal with the последствия of the severe weather.

Heavy rains on March 28 and April 4–5 caused large-scale flooding in Dagestan. A federal-level state of emergency was declared in the region due to the adverse weather conditions. Following a dam breach at the Gedzhukh reservoir, more than 4,000 people were evacuated from four neighborhoods in the Derbent district.

According to the latest data, six people have died and more than 6,200 have been affected by the flooding.
