Dmitry Peskov: Demographic situation in Russia is deplorable

"Currently, it is impossible to improve the complicated demographic situation in Russia," Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on March 31, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti.
"The situation in this area is deplorable. Indeed, the steps taken to overcome the demographic crisis and improve the situation do not yield any results for objective reasons. In all cases, demography is a very delicate issue. The dynamics of the demographic situation in various regions of Russia is different," the spokesman said.
On March 30, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova stated that the number of women aged 20-29 in the country had decreased by 37.5% over the past decade.
