Deputy Prosecutor General of Iran: Littoral countries must protect biodiversity of Caspian Sea

The Caspian littoral states must protect the biodiversity of the Caspian Sea, Deputy Prosecutor General of Iran Golam Abbas Torki said during a five-party meeting of representatives of the prosecutors’ offices of the Caspian countries in Baku, Report informs.

“First of all, we would like to express our condolences to Russia regarding the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall. As for the protection of the Caspian Sea, at the moment we have more than 200 documents on its protection. These documents are an important basis for preventing any abuse of Caspian resources,” he said.

According to Torki, it is very important to formulate appropriate governance levers to address this issue.

“Prosecutor bodies will play a special role in this work. Today’s meeting opens up prospects for future cooperation,” he added.
