"The British strain has been detected in 50-60% of coronavirus infections in Georgia," Amiran Gamkrelidze, director of Georgia's Center for Disease Control and Public Health, said at a briefing, Report informs.
According to his deputy Paata Imadze, what distinguishes the British strain from other mutated modifications is its faster human-to-human transmission.
Gamkrelidze noted that the facts of infection with other strains had not been confirmed in Georgia.
