Botchorishvili: Tbilisi, Baku, and Ankara have significant potential for deepening cooperation

Tbilisi, Baku, and Ankara possess significant potential for deepening trilateral cooperation, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili said at a press conference following the 10th meeting of the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Georgia, held in Istanbul, Report informs.

"We are confident that we can further realize the potential for cooperation between our countries. This will open up new areas of cooperation, allow us to more effectively utilize the capabilities of our states, and will contribute to the further strengthening of our partnership for the benefit of all three countries," she noted.

The foreign minister emphasized that during the meeting in Istanbul, the parties discussed economic issues, as well as the strategic geographic location of the countries in the region.

"The potential for transport connectivity opens up important prospects for us. With the establishment of peace in the Eurasian region, this connectivity will become even more sustainable, and trade and economic ties will receive additional impetus for development. We strive to act as a bridge between the two continents. Today, we also discussed additional areas of cooperation that can give new impetus to our relations," she said.

Botchorishvili specifically noted the importance of the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway, emphasizing the need to maximize its potential: "This route will contribute to expanding trade, strengthening economic ties, and further developing the region."

She also emphasized the importance of the projects under discussion, including the development of the Middle Corridor and its role in expanding trade and business. Special attention was paid to the Black Sea submarine power cable project, which, she noted, is of strategic importance for the region.

"We also discussed trilateral relations and the possibility of expanding their scope and scale. We are convinced that the potential of our partnership is significantly broader, and that cooperation can become even deeper. Today's meeting reaffirmed the importance of the Türkiye–Azerbaijan–Georgia format and demonstrated its significant potential," the minister added.
