The EU monitoring mission will finish its work in Armenia on December 19, Head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell said at a briefing following the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Eastern Partnership countries, Report informs.
He noted that the mission, formed in October, showed its effectiveness, but in accordance with the agreements both with Armenia and Azerbaijan, it will complete its work on December 19.
Nevertheless, in order to maintain the EU authority as a mediator in the dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Union will deploy a team of representatives in Armenia to discuss possible civilian missions next year, Borrell said.
