Blinken: Biden administration supports Türkiye in F-16 procurement

The Biden administration supports Türkiye in the purchase of F-16 fighter jets, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu following talks in Ankara, Report informs via Turkish media.

In turn, Cavusoglu noted that the US authorities actively support Türkiye's position on the procurement and modernization of the F-16 fleet of the Turkish Air Force.

"We also expect the soonest removal of all sanctions against Türkiye," he stressed.

Touching upon the issue of US assistance in eliminating the consequences of the earthquake in Türkiye, Blinken noted that the United States is ready to provide all necessary assistance in the future.

Blinken said he had visited disaster areas and viewed the work of rescue teams from the United States.
