Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) of member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) should pay more attention to solving ecological problems, stated Banu Nurgaziyeva, Chairperson of the Civic Alliance of Kazakhstan, at the 2nd Solidarity Forum of NGOs of OTS member countries held in Baku on May 16, Report informs.
According to her, Azerbaijan is not just a strategic bridge between East and West:
"It is also a space of dialogue, trust, and hospitality, a meeting point of cultures and ideas. We should also strengthen cooperation in the field of ecology, because nature knows no political borders."
Nurgaziyeva also proposed the creation of a unified digital platform for permanent communication between NGOs and citizens.
In her opinion, there is currently a need to strengthen the volunteer movement within the framework of the OTS:
"Solidarity makes us stronger than any challenge."
Speaking about the exchange of ideas and initiatives, the alliance chair particularly emphasized the role of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be held in Baku on May 17-22:
"This demonstrates the growing role of Azerbaijan as a country that provides a platform for solving international-level problems and seeking ways of communication."
