Azerbaijani ambassador meets Kyiv Regional Administration head

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev has met with Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration.

According to the Eastern Europe bureau of Report, Tkachenko expressed his sincere gratitude to the ambassador, the Azerbaijani government and people for their solidarity and unwavering support for the Kyiv region.

"An obvious example of effective partnership is the reconstruction of Irpin. Thanks to Azerbaijan's assistance, the Academic Lyceum of Linguistics named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva has already been rebuilt with a modern shelter. The city polyclinic has been renovated and essential energy equipment has been transferred. We also highly appreciate humanitarian initiatives, particularly the rehabilitation of our children in Azerbaijan. In addition, this month we expect the arrival of five electric buses for Irpin's city routes," Tkachenko emphasized.

During the meeting, attention was paid to future priorities. The sides discussed work on the next major reconstruction package in Irpin. They discussed the construction of an apartment building in place of a destroyed building, the restoration of the School of Youth and Sports and the Central House of Culture, as well as the establishment of a new modern art center.

Mardaliyev, in turn, emphasized that Azerbaijan's humanitarian assistance would continue, particularly the monthly rehabilitation of Ukrainian children in Azerbaijan: "So far, 660 children have been sent. The next groups are being organized from the Kyiv region."

The ambassador also spoke about the signing of mutual memorandums between the Kyiv region and Azerbaijan's regions.

Advisers at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ukraine Farid Babayev and Rovshan Mammadov also attended the meeting.
