Azerbaijan to participate in first TurkicSkills professional skills championship

In the fall of 2025, the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan—officially recognized as the cultural capital of the Turkic world—will host a historic event: the first professional skills championship among Turkic-speaking countries, TurkicSkills.

Report informs, citing Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Education, that this large-scale initiative aims to elevate the prestige of skilled professions, create a shared professional space, and encourage experience exchange among young specialists from Turkic-speaking nations.

"The championship will serve as an important platform for unlocking youth potential, promoting modern technologies, and shaping a new generation of qualified personnel capable of meeting contemporary challenges," the ministry stated.

More than 100 young professionals aged 16 to 22 and 80 highly qualified experts from eight countries—including Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Mongolia—are expected to take part.

Competitions will be held in 15 core skill areas spanning IT, construction and building technologies, manufacturing and engineering, as well as social and personal services.

Special emphasis will be placed on forward-looking fields such as mobile robotics and unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) operation.
