Azerbaijan meets 54% of Georgia’s electricity needs

Georgia imported 402,796 million kilowatt-hours of electricity from Azerbaijan in the first quarter of 2020, said in a report of the Electricity System Commercial Operator of Georgia (ESCO), Report’s local bureau informs.

In January-March, the neighboring country supplied a total of 744,18 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. Azerbaijan provided 54.3% of this volume.

Compared to the previous year, the volume of electricity Georgia purchased from Azerbaijan decreased by 55,810 million kilowatt-hours or 12.1%.
