Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to strengthen cooperation on migration

The Head of the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan, Vusal Huseynov, and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Baku, Alim Bayel, discussed issues of cooperation between the two countries in the field of migration, Report informs, citing the embassy.

"During the meeting, the ambassador noted the high level of strategic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, which is consistently strengthened thanks to active political dialogue and regular mutual visits by the presidents of the two states," reads the statement by the embassy.

The interlocutors discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan in the field of migration. "The parties also agreed to intensify work on improving the legal and contractual framework in the field of migration," the embassy indicated.

Bayel also emphasized during the meeting the growing number of Azerbaijani students at Kazakh universities and students from Kazakhstan at Azerbaijani universities.

"In addition, tourist flows between the countries have intensified, as well as the exchange of delegations in scientific, cultural, and educational areas. These trends contribute to the sustainable growth of migration flows, further expansion of humanitarian ties, and increase the relevance of effective interaction in the migration sphere," the embassy indicated.

Huseynov, for his part, presented the main areas of activity of the agency and the priorities of Azerbaijan's state migration policy, and also expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation between the two countries in this area.
