Armenian Prosecutor's Office granted authority to arrest six members of Strong Armenia electoral list

The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia has approved requests by the country's Prosecutor's Office to initiate criminal proceedings against several members of the Strong Armenia opposition electoral bloc, according to Armenpress, cited by Report.

The decision allows legal action, including arrest, against six individuals included in the bloc's electoral list.

However, no specific charges against the individuals were publicly disclosed.

The Prosecutor's Office had submitted the relevant requests during the ongoing pre-election period ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7.

It is also noted that, during the election campaign, representatives of the Strong Armenia bloc were previously detained on multiple occasions in connection with alleged attempts to bribe voters.
