Armenian MP: Government is turning country into platform for confrontation between West and Russia

The diplomatic steps of the Armenian authorities against Russia are becoming a dangerous trend for the country, Armen Rustamyan, a member of the Hayastan bloc of the Armenian Parliament, told journalists, Report informs via Sputnik Armenia.

He said that the leadership of Armenia is turning into a camp of opponents of Russia: “This can be destructive for the country.”

According to Rustamyan, the non-participation of high-ranking officials of the state in the events held in the format of the CSTO or CIS is already becoming a trend: “This can be called nothing but demarche. The main threat is that this is happening against the background of the confrontation between Russia and the West. With its actions, Armenia transfers this conflict to its territory and becomes one of the platforms of this conflict.”

The deputy believes that Armenia is moving to another camp, and this may have a serious outcome for the country.

“This can lead to devastating results for Armenia,” the deputy said.
