Armenia sees record rise in COVID-19 death toll

Armenia confirmed 1, 600 new coronavirus cases, bringing the nationwide case tally to 80, 410, Report says, citing the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health.
The death toll reached 1,222 as 26 more fell victims to the virus. So far, 51 814 people have recovered from the infection.
There are currently 26, 452 active COVID-19 patients in Armenia.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to more than 200 countries and territories since then.
On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
