Armenia's COVID-19 death toll tops 1000

Armenia confirmed 718 new coronavirus cases, bringing the nationwide case tally to 54 473, Report says, citing the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health.
The death toll reached 1004 as nine fell victims to the virus. So far, 45 312 people have recovered from the infection.
There are currently 7, 855 active COVID-19 patients in Armenia.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to more than 200 countries and territories since then.
On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
