Armenia interested in quality, affordable LNG supplies from Iran

Armenia is interested in importing quality and cost-effective liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Iran, Armenia's Economy Minister Gevork Papoyan said during a meeting with Iran's Deputy Oil Minister Mohammad Sadegh Azimifar, Report informs, citing Armenian press.
"Liquefied gas can serve as a basis for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation. At the same time, it can strengthen the country"s energy security," Papoyan noted.
The parties also discussed future cooperation prospects, including expanding trade in oil and petroleum products, developing infrastructure for liquefied and natural gas supplies, joint investments in the energy sector, and efficient use of regional transport and logistics hubs.
In parallel, the foreign ministries of Armenia and Iran held their 13th consular consultations and signed a memorandum aimed at protecting the rights of their citizens and legal entities. The delegations, led by Armenia's Deputy Foreign Minister David Karapetyan and Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Vahid Jalalzadeh, emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation in judicial, commercial-economic, and science-education fields.
