As part of reforming its armed forces, the Armenian government intends to attract women to serve in combat army units, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in parliament during the presentation of the new program of the Cabinet of Ministers, Report informs referring to TASS.
“There is a clause on the wider involvement of women in combat units of the Armed Forces in our program. The thesis on the participation of women is conditioned by an exclusively pragmatic calculation. Women make up the majority of the Armenian population. Insufficient use of their resources in any area means a distortion of the development potential of our country,” he noted.
