"By the end of the year, the bilateral trade turnover between Russia and Iran may reach $ 2 billion," Russia's ambassador to Iran, Levan Jagaryan, said in an interview with Iran Daily, Report informs.
According to him, despite the pandemic, the volume of exports and imports between the two countries has increased in recent months: "If such a tendency continues, the trade turnover between the two countries will reach $ 2 billion by the end of the year."
Jagaryan said Russia was ready to sell arms to Iran under international law.
Notably, the UN sanctions on Iran over arms sales expired in October 2020. However, the US continues to introduce sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
