Active COVID cases on decline in Russia

Over the past day, medical experts recorded 33,946 new cases of coronavirus infection in Russia, Report informs referring to Russian media.

The total number of registered cases in the country since the pandemic onset has reached 9,536,825.

To date, a total of 271,531 people died due to COVID-related health complications in Russia, including 1,239 deaths seen over the past day. The number of recoveries is 8,237,465.

Currently, there are 1,027,829 active cases in the country.

More than 260.9 million people globally have contracted the virus since the onset of the pandemic. The deadly pathogen has claimed over 5.2 million lives, though unable to cope with 235.8 million patients, who managed to recover.
