11 killed in truck-involved road accident in Tajikistan

A major road accident involving a truck on the Dushanbe–Kulob–Khorog highway in Tajikistan has left 11 people dead, the country's Interior Ministry confirmed the incident.

Report informs via Tajik media that nine of the victims were passengers. The accident occurred on the morning of July 2 at the 32nd kilometer of the highway near the city of Vahdat.

The interior minister, the head of the State Traffic Inspectorate, the Vahdat city prosecutor, and other officials arrived at the scene. The circumstances of the accident are under investigation.

According to preliminary information, the truck, identified as a Dulan, suffered brake failure while traveling near the village of Elok and subsequently collided with two passenger vehicles-an Opel Zafira and a Toyota Prado.
