103rd anniversary of Heydar Aliyev's birth celebrated in Kyiv

Events dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev have been held in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, Report informs.

Employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ukraine, the SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) representative office in Ukraine, and representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora visited the Heydar Aliyev monument in the park of the same name in Kyiv and honored his memory.

A tree planting event followed on the Alley of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Friendship. The event, organized by the Embassy jointly with the United Diaspora of Azerbaijanis in Ukraine, was attended by representatives of SOCAR, members of the Kyiv City Council, and Kyiv city administration staff.

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev noted that Heydar Aliyev played a huge role in the development of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian relations. He noted that thanks to the policies of President Ilham Aliyev, the country continues to develop dynamically and strengthen its international prestige.
