Krzysztof Szczerski: WUF13 taking place at critically important moment for global agenda

WUF13 is taking place at a critically important moment for the global agenda, Krzysztof Szczerski, Poland's Permanent Representative to the UN and co-chair of the intergovernmental process for preparing the political declaration of the New Urban Agenda, said at the ministerial meeting within WUF13 dedicated to the New Urban Agenda, according to Report.

According to him, nearly ten years after the adoption of the New Urban Agenda, the international community continues to face increasingly complex and interconnected challenges.

Szczerski highlighted global issues such as rising inequality, climate change, migration, and growing pressure on infrastructure and basic services.

He emphasized that the upcoming discussions at WUF13 will be highly valuable, noting that the forum provides a unique platform where all stakeholders can meet, discuss, and share practices and challenges related to the development of sustainable cities.
