Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he is ready to discuss ending the fighting in Ukraine with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Report informs.
He was speaking at a plenary session of the European Political Community meeting in Tirana.
"As you know, yesterday I was in Ankara. For which I once again express my gratitude to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. I was ready to negotiate with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, whether in Istanbul or in Ankara. I was ready to completely end this conflict. However, as you all saw, this didn't happen, since Putin himself didn't come, but only sent a delegation," Zelenskyy said.
He noted that the Ukrainian delegation, which is currently in Istanbul for negotiations with Russia, has all the powers to make decisions.
"I call on President Putin to provide his negotiating team with the necessary powers so that they can make a decision. The war must finally end for the sake of future generations," he added.
