Zelenskyy: Ukraine struck Russian Navy base in Kronstadt and oil depot in Krasnodar region

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out strikes on Russian arsenals, a Russian Navy base in Kronstadt (Leningrad region), as well as an oil depot in Russia"s Krasnodar region.

According to Zelenskyy's post on X, cited by Report, the attacks on strategic facilities were carried out because "Russia did not respond to the open letter proposing negotiations on a peace agreement".

"It is time to end this war. But Russia's ruler wants to keep fighting. That is why Ukrainian sanctions against this aggression are working," he wrote.

He added that Ukraine will continue striking Russian targets if the conflict continues.

Earlier, it was reported that as a result of a Ukrainian UAV attack on Krasnodar region, a fire broke out at an oil depot in Ust-Labinsk. Saint Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov also stated that the city had come under a massive drone attack.

It is noted that on June 4, Zelenskyy sent an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin proposing a personal meeting and a ceasefire during negotiations. Putin, in turn, said on June 5 that he had reviewed the letter but "does not yet see the point" in meeting Zelensky.
