Trump tells Zelenskyy about results of his conversation with Putin

US President Donald Trump said that during his phone talks with Volodymyr Zelenskyy he based the conversation on the results of his negotiations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Report informs via TASS.

On his Truth Social page, Trump wrote that he "just completed a very good telephone call" with Zelenskyy. "It lasted approximately one hour. Much of the discussion was based on the call made yesterday with President Putin in order to align both Russia and Ukraine in terms of their requests and needs," Trump said.

"We are very much on track, and I will ask Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, to give an accurate description of the points discussed. That statement will be put out shortly," the US president added.

Putin and Trump held a telephone conversation on March 18, during which they discussed a 30-day ceasefire in the Ukrainian conflict, conditions for preventing escalation, and a number of international issues. The Russian leader agreed with his US counterpart's proposal on the mutual refusal of the parties to the conflict in Ukraine to attack energy infrastructure facilities.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will hold a telephone conversation with American leader Donald Trump today, March 19. The day before, Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Report informs via Ukrainian media.

Zelenskyy announced at a press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb: "Today I will have contact with President Trump. We will be discussing details today. I think, details of the next steps. We had a really good meeting of our teams. I believe everything was going right, if it weren't for Russia, which is always unhappy when something goes right."

According to Zelenskyy, he and Trump will discuss details of the next steps to resolve the war in Ukraine. The head of state added that he also expects to hear from Trump about the details of his conversation with Putin.
