Zelenskyy says Russia launched over 40 missiles, 120 drones at Kyiv

Russian forces carried out one of their heaviest ballistic attacks on Kyiv overnight, launching more than 40 missiles of various types and 120 attack drones, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, Report informs, citing his Telegram channel.

"At the moment, one person is known to have been killed in the capital and Kyiv region, while 16 others were injured. There are also casualties in Odesa region and Zaporizhzhia, as well as destruction in Sumy and Chernihiv regions. Emergency response efforts are continuing at three sites, with nearly 600 rescuers involved," he said.

According to Zelenskyy, Russian forces used about 1,450 attack drones, more than 1,640 guided aerial bombs and 99 missiles of various types against Ukraine this week, targeting Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Kherson and Cherkasy regions.

"Protection against ballistic missiles is the top priority now. It is very important that pressure on Russia continue alongside work on anti-ballistic defenses," the Ukrainian president said.
