Zelenskyy says Azerbaijani citizen killed in Russian strike

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that two people were killed in a Russian strike on the Kyiv region, including an Azerbaijani citizen.

Report quotes him as saying a multi-storey residential building in Kharkiv was hit, partially destroying the second and fourth floors.

"Residential buildings were hit in the Sumy, Rivne, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions. Critical infrastructure was attacked in the Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Khmelnytskyi, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Emergency services are working wherever they are needed," Zelenskyy said on X.

He added that Kyiv was also targeted by drones, damaging residential buildings, utility infrastructure and gas stations. The drones also destroyed a cafe and attempted to set fire to a food market in the capital.

According to Zelenskyy, a vessel flying the flag of Palau was hit in the Odesa region, while an ice cream factory was damaged in the Zhytomyr region.

"As of now, dozens of people have been reported injured. The strike on Kharkiv alone resulted in 28 people being injured, including nine children. Tragically, lives have been lost. Two people were killed in the Kyiv region, one of them a citizen of Azerbaijan," Zelenskyy wrote.
