WP: Frustration with Washington's Iran policy grows among US's Persian Gulf allies

US allies in the Persian Gulf are increasingly convinced that Washington is unable to achieve a diplomatic settlement to the conflict with Iran.

According to The Washington Post, cited by Report, dissatisfaction with the US administration's actions is growing in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain.

Sources cited by the newspaper said the Gulf states are concerned that Washington is not making sufficient diplomatic efforts to reach an agreement with Tehran.

Some US allies have already begun discussing whether it remains advisable to host major American military facilities on their territory. According to the newspaper, dissatisfaction with Washington's actions has reached its highest level since the start of the military operation against Iran.

As one indication of the region's changing position, The Washington Post cited the signing of the Mecca Pact by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, under which an attack on any one of the three signatories would be regarded as aggression against all three countries.
