White House restores access for CNN, MS NOW and Politico journalists

The White House has restored press credentials for journalists from CNN, MS NOW and Politico who had previously been denied access to the US presidential residence.

According to Report, citing US media outlets, a court filing by White House press secretary Miki Stoppard says that the White House was notified at 7:10 a.m. local time that it was required to begin restoring access and started reactivating the credentials 15 minutes later. The US Secret Service confirmed that the credentials had been reactivated at 9:07 a.m., after which it began searching for the previously confiscated passes. The passes were left at the entrance for collection at 9:55 a.m.

However, according to the filing, CNN and MS NOW journalists were still unable to enter the White House at 11:00 a.m., which did not correspond with the timeline of the administration's actions outlined in the filing. By 12:29 p.m., representatives of all three media outlets had gained access.

Earlier, Judge Tim Kelly asked the US administration to respond to claims by media representatives that their journalists were still being denied entry to the White House.
