The World Bank (WB) is preparing a $1.5 billion assistance package for Ukraine to support the provision of public services to the population, WB President David Malpass said at the Warsaw School of Economics, Report informs.
This was facilitated by the April 11 approval by donor and recipient countries of $1 billion in aid for Ukraine and $100 million for Moldova, he noted.
The World Bank was established in 1944 to help Europe recover from World War II, and the bank will be ready to help Ukraine recover when the time comes, he added.
