US, Ukrainian defense chiefs mull supply of missile systems

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has held telephone conversations with his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksii Reznikov, Acting Pentagon Press Secretary Todd Breasseale wrote on the official website of the US Department of Defense, Report informs referring to the website.
The talks covered ongoing military assistance, including a US commitment to provide additional High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS).
“Secretary Austin reassured Minister Reznikov that the United States is moving as quickly as possible to deliver equipment to Ukraine. Minister Reznikov also provided an update on the situation on the ground,” reads the statement.
Austin has previously said that four HIMARS will be provided to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
