US suspends financial aid for Ukraine’s energy system recovery

The United States has halted its support for the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

According to Report, citing the Anadolu agency, sources within the US Agency for International Development (USAID) under the State Department confirmed the decision.

Sources revealed that the US State Department has stopped a USAID program that allocated hundreds of millions of dollars to restore Ukraine’s power grid after Russian attacks.

"This significantly undermines the administration's ability to negotiate a ceasefire and sends a clear signal to Russia that we don’t care about what happens to Ukraine or our previous investments," the sources stated.

They emphasized that Russia is waging both a military and economic war in Ukraine.

"The withdrawal of USAID from Ukraine will leave the country’s energy system vulnerable to Russian missile attacks in the middle of winter," the sources warned.
