"China's recent actions have undermined the status quo and threatened the peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait," said US State Department spokesman Ned Price, Report informs, citing New York Post.
The spokesperson added that the department believes "these tactics will continue in the days and weeks ahead."
"What we're seeing now appears to be just the beginning stages of an intensification of those efforts," Price said. "We've already seen an uptick in military intimidation tactics to an unprecedented level and an increase in coercive economic tactics."
