US sends 380 tons of humanitarian aid to Türkiye

After the devastating earthquakes in Türkiye, the United States sent 380 tons of humanitarian aid to the disaster zone, Report informs.

About 60 tons of humanitarian aid are delivered daily to the aid center set up at the Turkish embassy in Washington, US.

Turkish community activists and local volunteers assist the embassy staff.

A US citizen named Kate contacted the embassy immediately after the disaster and arrived at the aid collection point.

“I heard that there was an earthquake in Türkiye and I immediately thought about how I could help. All my neighbors, like me, expressed their willingness to help. We heard many people died, and some survivors did not have warm clothes. Fortunately, I live not far from the embassy building. I contacted a friend and he helped me come here. There are many people in the US like me who are ready to help.”

Volunteers pack the collected aid, and then it is sent to the disaster area by cargo planes and ships.

Azerbaijanis living in Washington DC and nearby states and cities also provide humanitarian assistance and make donations through the Azerbaijani Embassy.
