US seeks IAEA resolution declaring Iran in breach of nuclear obligations

The United States and its allies - the United Kingdom, France and Germany - are pressuring the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to adopt a resolution next week declaring Iran in breach of its nuclear non-proliferation obligations.

According to Report, citing Al Arabiya, if adopted, the resolution would follow up on a document approved on June 12, 2025 - one day before Israel launched strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, later joined by the United States.

In the June 2025 resolution, Iran was found to be in breach of its obligations due to its insufficient cooperation with an IAEA investigation into the discovery of traces of uranium at undeclared sites.
