US opposes any coercive change to Taiwan status quo, Rubio says

The United States opposes any attempt to change the status quo around Taiwan through coercion or pressure, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in an interview with Fox News.
"We do not support any change to the current status quo. We would oppose any attempt to alter the status quo in any way through coercion or pressure," Rubio said.
According to the secretary of state, Washington has clearly conveyed this position to the Chinese side during bilateral meetings.
