US intelligence says COVID-19 might have emerged from Chinese lab

The US intelligence services do not know precisely how the new coronavirus appeared. As one of the possibilities, they consider the version about its spread from a laboratory in China, Report informs, citing TASS.
“Basically, components have coalesced around two alternative theories. These scenarios are, it emerged naturally from human contact with infected animals, or it was a laboratory accident,” Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines told lawmakers during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing.
