US House committee approves sanctions bill against Russia

The Rules Committee of the US House of Representatives has backed a bill to tighten sanctions against Russia and forwarded it to the lower chamber for consideration.
According to Report, the committee's vote was broadcast live on its website Monday.
Seven members voted in favor of the procedural rules for the bill, while three opposed. Lawmakers also rejected several amendments proposed by Democrats.
Fox News reported that the House may begin debating the bill and hold a procedural vote on September 15. If approved, a final vote on its adoption could take place the following day.
