US Embassy honors victims of September 11 terror attacks

The US Embassy in Azerbaijan paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the September 11 terrorist attacks, according to Report.

"Today, we pause to honor the memory of the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the bravery of the first responders, service members, and civilians who answered the call to help. Let us reflect on the resilience and unity that emerged from this tragedy," the embassy said in a post on X.

On September 11, 2001, terrorists from al-Qaeda carried out a series of attacks in the United States, hijacking planes to target the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Arlington. Another plane, reportedly headed for Washington, crashed in a field in Pennsylvania after passengers and crew resisted the hijackers.
