US accuses Iran of 'blatant violation' of ceasefire

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has accused Iran of a "blatant violation of the ceasefire" following overnight attacks involving a ballistic missile and drones.

According to Report, citing Sky News, CENTCOM said Iran launched a ballistic missile toward Kuwait, which was successfully intercepted by Kuwaiti forces.

"This blatant violation of the ceasefire came just hours after Iranian forces launched five one-way attack drones posing a clear threat in and around the Strait of Hormuz," the US command said in a statement.

CENTCOM added that all drones were successfully intercepted by American forces.

The command also stated that US military personnel prevented the launch of another drone from an Iranian ground control site in Bandar Abbas.

US Central Command emphasized that it continues to act "carefully and deliberately" while protecting its forces and interests from what it described as "unprovoked Iranian aggression."
