Any sanctions shouldn’t aggravate the humanitarian situation, Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, said at a briefing commenting on some countries’ advocating for additional sanctions imposed on Taliban, Report informs.
“We’ve always said that whatever sanctions are imposed - and sanctions are a very important tool in the toolbox of the Security Council - whatever sanctions are imposed should not be sanctions that aggravate the humanitarian situation, and that… but that’s been the Secretary‑General’s position for quite some time,” he said.
